The weekend gave Rockstar and its parent company Take-Two a lot of headaches. Massive quantity GTA 6 Videos and screenshots of the development were posted online by an anonymous leaker. The GTA has never had a leak of this magnitude, and material has been posted all over the place for obvious reasons.

The videos and screenshots showed various gameplay snippets, a conversation system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, some modes of transport, and some open world. More importantly, they featured the rumored protagonist and seemed to confirm the long-rumored Vice City setting that was recently confirmed in a Bloomberg report.

The leaks were posted by user teapotuberhacker on the GTA forums. The topic has since been locked and the material removed, although it is available to read again as of this writing.

Take-Two quickly moved to take down everything that came out of this leak on YouTube, Twitter, and any other platform that complied with the copyright takedown requests. While some of these leaks are likely archived by the few who have seen them, making copies virtually confirms the footage's authenticity.

However, it remains unclear how one can get their hands on such a large batch of videos, screenshots and other materials. There may be more to come. Teapotuberhacker claims to have the source code for GTA 5 and GTA 6, as well as a test build of the latter - which is likely where the leak came from.

They later published their email address, asking Rockstar employees to contact them from their corporate email addresses to supposedly "negotiate a deal." Assuming their claims about what they have are true, Take-Two could be dealing with a buyout situation that seems to be becoming more common as of late.

The developer of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt, has been the victim of a similar hack. Japanese giant Capcom has also been leaked years of information, including plans for many years to come.
