The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom has been announced as part of the Xbox Bethesda demo, with the new expansion and its class fully revealed.
The Elder Scrolls Online has been around for many years, regular content updates keep it fresh for both old and new players and have cemented it as one of the best PC games in years. Those prayers have been answered: with the release date of Necrom, there will be a third new playable class - the Arcanist. The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom Coming to PC/Mac June 5th, and the console release will follow on June 20th.
ESO Necrom Trailer
The above cinematic trailer was shown as part of the Elder Scrolls Online global presentation that followed the Xbox and Bethesda demo on January 27th. Instead of focusing solely on Necrom, the cinematic reveals that Necrom is part of the wider Shadow Over Morrowind saga. The trailer ends with the return of the legendary Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora, who will be part of the saga, along with the new Arcanist class.
Mora, the Daedric Prince of Knowledge, will be part of the Necrom storyline more than ever before as you try to uncover the secrets hidden by great powers. According to Necrom's full global reveal, "there are hidden forces that threaten the realm of Apocrypha Pestilence, and the ultimate goal of uncovering one of these secrets... could lead to the unraveling of all of reality," putting not only Tamriel but all of Nirn in danger. Therefore, the player's task is to try to stop this threat, while undergoing the trials of Hermaeus Mora.
ESO Class Arcanist
The arcanist plays a huge role in the cinematic trailer, and an equally huge role in the expansion, and players have been craving a new playable class for some time now.
The Arcanist appears in the new storyline as his power comes from lore and apocrypha, so of course the Arcanist goes hand in hand with Hermaeus Morus. With this new class, you'll be able to use runic magic to damage, heal, and even move, including summoning deadly tentacles from the Abyss and magical runic portals. There are three skill lines in the arcanist game: Book Herald, Apocryphal Soldier, and Healing Runeforms. Which one you choose depends on your play style as they are offensive, defensive and support respectively.
Whether you want to play as an Arcanist or not, the new class brings mystery and lore to The Elder Scrolls Online that you can unravel over time as you build a relationship with Morata.
Where does Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom take place?
For the first time in ESO, players will explore the Telvanni peninsula on the eastern edge of Morrowind, home to the city of Necrom. Veterans of the series will all feel familiar, but it's also new and will breathe new life into a city that hasn't been seen in an Elder Scrolls game since Arena.
