There is absolutely no release date for Elder Scrolls 6 at the moment, as the release date for Starfield is still unknown, and it is set much earlier than the release date for Bethesda's next Tamriel-immersive RPG. While we're all waiting for a release date, it looks like the UK government may already know it, even if it has the foresight to remove all mention of it from official documents.

Don't get your hopes up too much, we can't say for sure that the UK government knows exactly the day, month, and year of Elder Scrolls 6 release, but it certainly looks like they were given a time frame that they scrubbed out of the official document.

This follows Microsoft's response to the UK CMA's investigation into its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, with the government itself recently publishing a documented response. In one section of the response regarding incentives for keeping Call of Duty cross-platform, Microsoft describes how "decisions regarding mid-sized games are not evidence of Microsoft's incentives for Call of Duty," essentially saying that games that are noticeably smaller than Call of Duty Duty and Minecraft cannot be used to demonstrate Microsoft's strategy for these franchises.

Microsoft then uses the example of Elder Scrolls 6, which will be exclusive to Xbox and PC consoles, writing: "Games like Elder Scrolls 6 (which is not expected to be released until [REDACTED] and the final installment in the series will be released in 2011)
, as well as other future games, will not entail Microsoft abandoning the approx. [REDACTED] US per year revenue from PlayStation customers or deprivation of rights to use approx. [REDACTED] million MAUs on PlayStation."

Microsoft's full response can be found on the website - UK government request for a merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard (thank UESP_net).

So by stripping away the numbers, Microsoft has essentially given the CMA a broad release date for Elder Scrolls 6, or at least when it won't release before. I believe the stated release date is just a year number and is most likely somewhere between 2026 and 2028, with Starfield set for a 2023 release date, after Redfall.

This, like many other secrets of the gaming industry, is due to the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. As part of the UK Competition and Markets Authority's second round of investigation into this acquisition (many other countries are doing the same), Microsoft provided a response that has now been released.

Although the CMA is a non-ministerial part of the UK government, it is still a government department; this is just a warning not to watch live debates in the House of Commons in the hope that the MP for Wythenshawe will announce the Elder Scrolls 6 release date live - they don't know.

If you can't wait for the Elder Scrolls 6 release date, we have prepared for you Skyrim mod adds over 100 weather effects and brings the RPG to life.
