An impressively detailed map of Tamriel from the Elder Scrolls franchise is being created, based on The Elder Scrolls Online.

A dedicated virtual cartographer and Elder Scrolls fan has created a stunningly detailed map of Tamriel. The beloved fantasy RPG has developed a fascinating and complex world for players to explore, with different races, factions and Daedric gods. The Elder Scrolls Online map allows players to travel across much of Tamriel, not just one province, and that world has now been transformed into an impressive Inkarnate map.

Despite the abundance of legends detailing all of Tamriel, most Elder Scrolls games only allow players to explore one province. For example, Morrowind and Skyrim take place in the regions of the same name, and Oblivion takes players to the capital of the Empire - the province of Cyrodiil. However, the massively multiplayer online game The Elder Scrolls Online stands out because it allows players to explore all nine provinces of Tamriel. However, even in this game the map is incomplete and some areas remain inaccessible to players. In the Elder Scrolls tabletop role-playing game, fans can imagine themselves having visited every corner of Tamriel, and now a masterful map will help them along the way.

Reddit user Bengamey_974 (via TheGamer) recently showed off an impressively detailed map of Tamriel from the Elder Scrolls franchise. Built by fantasy map creator Inkarnate, this amazing project includes and clearly labels all the places players can visit in The Elder Scrolls Online. By zooming in on any particular area, viewers can see the geography, landmarks, and subtle details of each location accurately represented on the map. Obviously, this is only the first phase of the mapping project, but Bengamey_974 intends to continue work on other provinces, based on previous games such as Skyrim and Oblivion.

The Elder Scrolls fans have received the final map of Tamriel

The political map of Tamriel, while not as detailed as Bengamey_974's Inkarnate creation, gives fans a fascinating look at the composition of the fantasy setting during the events of Skyrim. In the latest installment of the series, the northernmost province is engulfed in a bloody civil war, as reflected in this political map, which divides the region between Stormcloak and the Imperium. The project also helps shed light on the state of affairs in the rest of Tamriel during the events of Skyrim: Elzevir belongs to the Aldmeri Dominion faction, and the reptilian Argonians expand their territory into Morrowind.

Players have never been able to explore all of Tamriel in one game, but The Elder Scrolls Online gives players access to a truly bountiful part of the continent. Using the MMO as a base, Bengamey_974 was able to map Tamriel with an impressive level of detail and accuracy. Using past single player games for further reference, this talented cartographer may soon be able to create a complete map of the entire Elder Scrolls world.
