Infinity Ward has announced when the next season of Call of Duty will begin. The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 2 start date is February 15, and the developer says it will have more information next week about what to expect. For now, we know that both multiplayer games will be making changes based on player feedback, and that Call of Duty Season 2 will add ranked play, new maps, new modes, and more.
“Season 02 includes all new content, with the return of Resurgence and an all-new small map in Warzone 2.0,” Infinity Ward announced on Twitter. “Ranked play is also back and coming to Modern Warfare 2, along with new multiplayer maps, new modes, weapons, and more.”
While Infinity Ward has never officially announced when that will happen, the studio confirmed in November that a ranked game would be added to Modern Warfare 2. As fans anticipated, this will indeed happen with the release date of the second season.
Leaked images from the upcoming season have suggested that it will have a Japanese theme, but Infinity Ward has yet to confirm this. However, the studio said it plans to release a "deep-dive studio blog" next week that should bring us up to speed. Currently developers only say that expect "exciting changes" in Warzone 2.0, "including gulags, looting and loaders."
