Players Destiny 2 are mysteriously deleted, according to a series of recent posts on Reddit. Over the past few weeks, several players have reported that they suddenly found that they do not have access to certain characters Destiny 2. Some of these players have spent considerable time creating these guardian characters online. The looming threat of sudden character removal is quickly becoming a major blot on the popular FPS game.

Last thing, player Destiny 2 wrote on Reddit that when logging into the game after several days of inactivity, he had connection problems, after which the game “deleted” his Warlock character. The Guardian even reports that they took to Bungie's help forums to explain the situation, but received general advice that didn't directly address the issue. Via Twitter, a Bungie spokesperson said that they have reports regarding the player's account, although it appears that it has not yet been restored.

A few days ago, another Redditor member shared a post that his Warlock character had also suddenly disappeared. As of the last update, the player has not recovered his character.

Last week, another player shared on Reddit that his Titan character had disappeared following an in-game server notification. Although the player ended up reporting a successful Titan recovery, he said that his character, who had previously spent around 1500 hours in the game, now only shows 200 hours of play. While the number of hours spent on a character should not affect gameplay, it can be a source of pride for players to demonstrate their level of dedication to the game through the number of hours spent on a particular character.

Destiny 2 will close on Stadia on January 18th, leading many to wonder if this could be due to account issues on Stadia. Bungie advises players who have characters on Stadia accounts to save them across platforms via cross-save to avoid losing them. However, at least one of the players claims that Stadia cross-save may not be an issue in this case since the player does not have a Stadia account.

The removals come amid complaints that the game's architecture Destiny 2 is in need of a major overhaul due to more recent issues such as ANTEATER error codes affecting players' attempts to connect to the game.

Some people now refuse to play the game because they are afraid that the characters Destiny 2 will be lost. Bungie doesn't seem to have an explanation for the random disappearances. Also, there doesn't seem to be anything the players can do to protect their characters. Bungie has yet to speak publicly on the matter.

Players suspect a bug, but there is no indication of what might be causing it. Some reports claim that up to five people have sought help with similar problems.

Bungie appears ready to work quickly to restore mistakenly deleted player characters. However, Guardians, fearful of losing hundreds of hours of polishing, may wish to stay away from the game's servers until Bungie resolves the issue. Those experiencing the loss of such characters should contact Bungie immediately through the company's help forums.

We hope Bungie can fix this issue as soon as possible.
