When will The Pegasus Expedition be released?

The Pegasus Expedition by Kalla Gameworks and Fulqrum Publishing debuts in Early Access at Steam, The Epic Games Storeand GOG.com 20 October. However, now in Steam a demo version of the game is available. The developers also promise several content updates, as well as the launch of the full version of the game is scheduled for 2023.

The grand strategy game The Pegasus Expedition is coming soon to Early Access to bring Crusader Kings-like gameplay to an intergalactic setting where players must fight for the future of humanity. The new trailer showcases some of the features of 4X strategy, as well as aspects of the handcrafted galaxy and its replayable campaign.

According to the game's description, Pegasus Expedition is a "story-driven sci-fi grand strategy game set at a pivotal moment for humanity's survival."

“Faced with an overwhelming threat at home, humanity sends expeditions to the Pegasus Galaxy in a desperate attempt to find refuge for the Earth's population,” the description reads.

The game's campaign referred to in the press release is 20 hours of gameplay, puts the player in the position of fleet director Zeus Link. The council monitors the galaxy for updates and assists the player on their journey. Throughout the game, the goal is to colonize the Pegasus galaxy, which will require strength, perseverance and diplomacy as the leaders must build a team of allies to help them confront their enemies. Players will also have to develop the economy so that their fleets grow, and in the end they can repel the enemy attack.

In a grand strategy game with RPG elements, leaders will have to make difficult decisions that require them to choose between their own interests and the interests of those they serve. Throughout the campaign, they will make treaties and oppose factions that see them as suspicious newcomers. Players will also have to decide whether or not to cater to the whims of any one of the 30 independent factions of the galaxy.

Aspects of the 4X game mean it offers multiple approaches to problem solving throughout the campaign. The player's decisions will define the galaxy, and alliances and crises will have a lasting impact on the future of society.

As the game progresses, the game becomes progressively more difficult as players encounter treacherous enemies, partisan units, and more. The game also introduces various characters, side quests and difficulties to keep the game interesting until the very end.

It wouldn't be an intergalactic grand strategy game if it didn't have war - and luckily, The Pegasus Expedition has plenty of that too. Ultimately, the game is about making sacrifices to solve a common problem.
