The wait will soon end for Overwatch 2 players who have found themselves without a core roster in the past few days. Bastion and Torbjorn return to the game from October 25th. The game is finally going to be good again as our favorite robot boy is back. Torbjorn wouldn't hurt either, I think.

This news comes from Activision Blizzard commercial leader John Spector, , who posted a long-awaited update on Twitter earlier this week. Their return comes with Junkertown, a map that was also removed from the game earlier this month due to bugs that caused graphics performance issues. It seems that with the return of this map to the game, some of the main problems will finally be solved.

Why don't you watch the Kiriko trailer again and think of all the Torbjorn players who gave up in desperation and tried them?

As you can imagine, the emotions among the dedicated hubs for these characters are high. We've already talked about the downturn that Bastion's main players have found themselves in, but please understand us, Torbjorn's main players have felt the pressure as well. As the end of both groups' general crisis is just around the corner, I've reached out to some of the most ardent and well-known hero fans, to get an idea of how morality has changed.

Let's start with the YouTuber, streamer, and probably Bastion's most famous fan... StrongholdHand. They, as you can imagine, were among thousands of other worried Bastion comrades whose emotions were running high following Bastion's removal. Now they are in limbo. “Usually I just play with it, but now I just twiddle my fingers with Brig.” They later spoke about their disappointment, saying: “On the third day, I had a deep existential crisis. BastionMain... But there is no Bastion. William... No Shakespeare. Who am I?"

Similar frustrations are shared by Voc, an avid Season 9 player who initially chose Torbjorn due to his hardware limitations, and who claims that "Torb picked me and I should have played him from the start", following the character's great success in competitive playlists on for many years. Their top pick was also sent down to the mines to fix the bugs, and they too experienced a tragic period of downtime. “It was definitely a little annoying because obviously he’s my guy and I play him all the time. I was prepared for a shitty launch because I knew it was done quickly (XNUMX months from what I heard) so I was a little annoyed, but it was understandable.”

As for their reaction to the possible return of their favorite heroes, there is a sense of relief, but also a tinge of lingering disappointment at the length of Bastion and Torb's absence. “This is really frustrating,” writes BastionMain. “There was more in Overwatch 2 without Bastion than with Bastion. Like, let me run these games!”

“My immediate reaction was relief because it was long overdue. I expected something like this to be tweaked and fixed overnight,” echoes Vok. "But I also don't know anything about game development or what else they have going on, so it might have been a rush job."

However, despite this situation, both players expressed overall satisfaction with Overwatch 2 as a product, both in terms of the changes it made and its impact on the game's popularity. BastionMain succinctly stated, “Oh, this is amazing, one less dumbass on my team. I have more influence, and the queue time is also less.”

“I'm really happy that the game is thriving again and that new faces are showing interest,” concludes Vock. “I always thought this game was the best, in my opinion. The launch was definitely rushed, but I also understand that they were losing people's interest the more time passed, so they almost had to release it when they did."

Perhaps Bastion players, Torb players, and maybe all Overwatch 2 players have a bright future ahead of them as some of the big initial issues will be ironed out soon. Hopefully with the return of both heroes and the Junkertown map, the community can finally dive into the next big chapter of the series without headaches.
