Early access to the Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader RPG alpha begins next week for players who pre-order an edition that includes this benefit. Developer Owlcat Games reports that Alpha version of Rogue Trader will start on December 7th, and players who pre-order either the Digital Developer Pack or the Collector's Edition will be able to begin exploring the Koronus Expanse that day.

Rogue Trader is the first classic-style RPG set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and created by the developers of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Players will take on the role of a gang of privateers sent by the Emperor of Mankind to map out the unpredictable and dangerous expanse of Koronus.

To join this early access stage, you need to purchase the premium version of the game. Digital Developer Pack costs $99 (about £80,49) and the Collector's Edition (which includes the 8"/20cm painted statue, artbook, rogue merchant banner and collector's box) is $299 (£243).

We don't know much about Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader yet though Owlcat hinted that the combat system will use the cover system - we always say that it makes no sense to stand in the open when plasma bolts begin to fly.
