A DnD style RPG set in the dark universe of Warhammer 40,000 is on its way. The Warhammer 40K CRPG is called Rogue Trader and is being developed by Owlcat Games, the studio behind Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Ironically, this will be the first classic-style RPG that Warhammer 40K has ever seen.

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader focuses on a group of privateers tasked by the Imperium of Man with mapping the Koronus Expanse, a dangerous region of space that was ignored by the Imperium's crusades and is therefore still infested with xenos. This is the frontier of the Imperium, and as Lord Captain of your band of mercenaries, you will have the opportunity to either carry the Emperor's light to the furthest reaches of space, or forge friendship with those who would see humanity destroyed.

Your group of Rogue Traders can reflect your decisions in this direction, including either holy warriors or xenos fighters, as well as unpredictable psykers. You'll unleash their powers and abilities in a step-by-step digital adaptation of the original Rogue Trader ruleset.

Based on the trailer, it looks like we'll be spending our time traveling from system to system, exploring several wildly diverse planets along the way.

There's no official release date for the Rogue Trader pack yet, but Owlcat games says it's "coming soon." On the site Steam и GOG Store pages are up and running.
