Where can I find new fluid?

Shimmer, that is. This new pearlescent purple liquid can be found in a medium-sized lake in a small biome known as Aether. This mini-biome will generate once for each new world and will spawn somewhere in a cave layer on the same side of the world as the jungle biome. You'll know when you get close to it, thanks to the incredible visual effect - the dark areas of the background appear almost transparent, and behind them are sparkles that make it seem like you are looking into space.

The flicker causes a wide range of magical effects on items and creatures imbued with it. This includes changing the appearance of city NPCs, turning enemies into others, and in some cases even creating special new items.

These new items include a vital crystal that is created when you toss a life crystal into the shimmer that permanently increases your health regeneration, and ambrosia - the mythical food of the gods created by coating any type of food with the shimmer - that can be used to permanently increase your mining speed and tile placement. Some other items and creatures have unique effects - for example, shooting stars simply bounce off the shimmering surface. It can even be used to craft some unique items, building bricks, and ammo.

Once again, we won't reveal all of the Shimmer's secrets, which you can end up moving around and taking with you once you create a special bucket for it.
