Unexpected Terraria crossover, revealed in the Terraria 1.4.4 update Labor of Love, delights fans by bringing together two of the best sandbox games on PC. While some collaborative projects, such as the Core Keeper Terraria crossover, were listed in the Terraria Labor of Love patch notes, a few others were kept under wraps. So consider it spoiler alert for this particular addition to one of the best crafting games - though we'll be careful not to give away anything else too important.

This particular indie crossover actually includes two separate collectable pets, courtesy of Stardew Valley's beloved farming game. Yes, yes, two of the most loved indie sandbox games have finally collided in Terraria's latest update, and you can get your hands on Junimo's pet, as well as ConcernedApe's iconic rare blue chicken.

In order to get Junimo, one of the joyful forest spirits found in the Stardew Valley Community Center and helping the player stop the efforts of the invading Joja Corporation, you first need to go fishing. With any luck, it may happen that you pull out an empty joja-cola can - you can then take it to a dryad NPC who will tell you that "this unnatural drink has a connection to another world" and offer to purify it. This opens a star-shaped portal through which you can catch a glimpse of Stardew Valley itself, and gives you a Stardrop Fruit, which can then be used to summon Junimo.

The other pet is a bit easier to get, as it can be purchased from the Terraria Traveling Cart for 25 gold. This is the Blue Chicken Egg, which, oddly enough, summons a Blue Chicken pet to your side. The tooltip even notes that "the name tag says 'Shane'", alluding to the fact that the rare blue chicken in Stardew Valley can only be obtained after you befriend the local Shane.

It remains to be seen what other secrets the Terraria Labor of Love update holds - there's so much in the patch that while it seems like most of the hidden secrets have already been revealed, it's likely there's more to come. In particular, additions like the new biome and the Terraria liquid have amazing potential to keep even more tricks up their sleeves.
