New Half-Life: Alyx mod adds a new X-rated experience to Valve's game and Steam VR, with lots of gore, gruesome kills and "fun mechanics like limb dismemberment", a brutal but brilliant way to pass the time. while waiting for Half-Life 3.
Operator, an all-new VR experience inspired by Half-Life: Alyx, feels like a cross between Scorn body horror and classic John Wick action horror as you try to survive against a mass of Alliance enemies in a bleeding, battered industrial hell.
Billed as "Half-Life: Alyx's bloodiest mod," Operator promises "feverish brutalist geometry, biomechanically-inspired horror themes, and hardcore close-quarters combat." It's tense and brutal in a way Alix's mods rarely do, demanding sharp responses and a strong stomach. Take a look at the Operator in action:
From that booming, ominous industrial music to the almost comical streaks of gore, The Operator turns Valve's Half-Life VR adventure into something decidedly grown-up. And it's not just the visuals and violence that are undergoing an adult overhaul. While you can knock off a leg or smash a harvester's head with just one or two bullets, the same goes for the opposite - react too slowly or don't check your angles and the Operator will push you back faster than you can say "headcrab". The operator, developed by modder CementStairs together with a team of testers and collaborators, is already available on Workshop Steam.
