The ongoing community project The Sims 3 Disney World is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World by bringing together the creators and builders of The Sims to make the perfect Disney game world inside a classic life game. The project was originally launched in October 2021 at the same time as the Disney Anniversary celebrations began, which will run until 2023. Over the past year, building game fans have come together to recreate various iconic Florida resort landmarks without resorting to user-generated content.

Community Collaboration The Sims 3 Disney Magic Kingdom is a huge project that includes multiple maps, each with its own set of lots, designed to represent different areas of the Disney World Florida resort. Areas include areas like Old West-inspired Frontierland, medieval Fantasyland, and futuristic Tomorrowland to name but a few, but if it's featured in Disney World, then you can probably find it here. The collaboration comes from a number of prominent members of the Sims community including Sparky1922, Soocoolsim, Hidehi, Sandraelle and Romagi1.

Recent innovations created over the past month include a recreation of Mickey's PhilharMagic arena, a "4D movie attraction" that regularly hosts concerts; the Reno-themed Chamber of Commerce building, a building on Main Street where Disney fans can collect packages sent to the front of the park; and the Peter Pan Antiquities Vault, a stunning building based on the German architecture of Pinocchio's country house. Of course, you can find many other of Disney World's most famous attractions built over the past year.

While the Sims 3's powerful user-generated content tools would have made this project easier, the creators decided that they wanted to avoid using any third-party user-generated content. However, builders can use all expansion packs, material packs, and store items while they are available for use. Registration for receiving lots takes place every two weeks, approximately on the 1st and 15th of each month, so if this project seems interesting to you and you want to take part in it or just visit it yourself, then be sure to check it out on The Sims forums!
