The next generation GPU war is in full swing, and it looks like AMD RDNA 3 graphics cards compete with Nvidia at a low price. AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is 999 dollars United States, followed by AMD Radeon RX 7900XT at the price of 899 dollars. This puts both pixel processors below the mark in 1000 dollars, and the flagship is cheaper Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 for whole 600 dollars.

AMD is taking a cue from Team Green by only announcing two of its best GPUs in the AMD Radeon RX 7000 lineup, but more could follow in 2023. Either one could be the best graphics card in terms of value, and both will be available from December 13th.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX leads with 24GB of GDDR6 memory and 12 stream processors, but the AMD Radeon RX 288 XT with 7900GB of VRAM and 20 native cores follows closely behind. They share the foundations of the Navi 10, which borrows elements from the company's best gaming processor, becoming the first consumer GPU to use a 752nm chiplet. AMD says the chiplet's modular approach means it can optimize performance by having 31% more transistors compared to previous generations.

They are also the first graphics cards to support DisplayPort 2.1, a next-generation connector that supports resolutions up to 8K at 165Hz or 4K at a staggering 480Hz refresh rate. Right now, the best gaming monitor doesn't even have an input, but AMD is teasing that a slew of monitors are on the way for CES 2023, including the 8K Samsung Odyssey Neo G9.

In terms of performance, AMD says the RX 7900 XTX is 1,5x to 1,7x faster than the RX 6950 XT at 4K resolution in 2022 games like Resident Evil Village and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It even achieves 96fps in Assassin's Creed Valhalla at 8K with FSR. Of course, it's always worth taking internal numbers with a grain of salt until we have our own review of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX or we can compare it to using an Nvidia RTX 4090 with DLSS, but it seems promising - especially for the price.

Thankfully, AMD doesn't risk the RTX 4090's melting cable as you don't have to change wires to use the new graphics cards. It should be as easy as plug and play if you can fit this thing in your case.

Ahead of 2023, AMD is introducing FSR 3 to compete against Nvidia's DLSS 3.0.
