Dwayne Johnson made a plea to audiences to try to jump-start the film's worldwide box office, and it looks like the breakout star is continuing to do well at the box office. That's why his DC superhero (or anti-hero, if you prefer) film Black Adam topped the global box office charts for the third week in a row.

Johnson plays the role of Teth-Adam, a former slave from the fictional Kandak who was empowered by the ancient Egyptian gods. He awakens thousands of years later when a young woman calls on him to help her fight against an oppressive invading force, and goes on a rampage before finding his true path.

The film "Black Adam" box office worldwide

Black Adam surpassed the $300 million box office mark worldwide and became the number one film worldwide. This is 35% more than last weekend. The film grossed another $25,4 million in 76 foreign markets on 15 screens. The audience increased by 996% in Belgium, by 30% in Sweden, minimal drops were observed in Brazil (-11%), Norway (-11%), France (-16%), Germany (-19%), Colombia (- 22%), Mexico (-26%), Italy (-27%), Australia (-31%), Holland (-36%), Spain (-38%) and the UK (-40%). The film has an international gross of $43 million and a worldwide total of $182,3 million as of Sunday, with IMAX grosses of $319,7 million. The film opens in Japan on December 21.

It's safe to assume that a lot of the back traffic and extra enthusiasm for the film was due to Henry Cavill appearing at the end of the credits. By this point, his return to the role of Superman had received much publicity, with both Johnson and Cavill commenting on the event. With the promise that these two giants will appear together in the new film, viewers may want to know more about Black Adam ahead of time.

But the main thing is that the film is fun, to put it simply and clearly. Johnson puts his heart and soul into the role of Black Adam, and it's clear from his enthusiasm on screen that he was born for the role and that he has had a long-standing passion for playing it. The film wasn't met with critical acclaim, but with strong audience scores on sites like CinemaScore and Rotten Tomatoes, it certainly found an audience that liked it and recommended it.

In Black Adam, Johnson stars alongside Pierce Brosnan, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell and Sarah Shahi. Watch the trailer for Black Adam below.
