Barbara is the one you hire automatically at Genshin Impact after completing the prologue, and while the RPG has no shortage of healers, Barbara is the most capable of them all.
The problem is that it's a little unwieldy at times, with a long cooldown and a skill effect that actually leaves you vulnerable to damage.

Barbara's healing power depends on her HP, although focusing on elemental mastery is a good idea too, especially if you're using her on Flower teams.
Barbara's best weapon - A Thousand Floating Dreams
A Thousand Floating Dreams is one of the few Catalysts that enhances Elemental Mastery, and its passive further increases the Mastery or elemental type of the equipped character. It's also a rare weapon designed for Nahida, so it's probably perfect for Barbara only in theory or if you're experimenting.
Sacrificial Fragments is a strong alternative with an Elemental Mastery buff that almost matches Floating Dreams. His passive also has a decent chance to reset Barbara's skill cooldown, which is handy considering it has a 32 second timer.
Barbara's Best Artifacts
Virgin Beloved used to be the best choice for Barbara as it increases the healing power and adds even more healing when the equipped character uses their skill or burst. It's still a smart choice, but the ocean clams set will help you get even more out of Barbara as a utility fighter even without having her on the battlefield.

Barbara's F2P build is pretty close to the other one. The Sacrificial Fragments weapon appears quite often in standard banners, but if you're looking to go down the non-Primogem path, there's an option for you: Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers. This 3-star Catalyst can be found in chests and normal banners, so reaching the highest upgrade rank is usually pretty easy. It boosts the character's HP, which increases Barbara's healing power, and when you switch characters, it gives the incoming character's attack buff between 24 and 48 percent for 10 seconds.
Is Barbara really good?
Whether or not Barbara is good depends on what your team needs. She's a healer and only healer, so you won't get a lot of support from her in sub-DPS, unlike Sayu and Kokomi, and it's a bit difficult to set up some reactions with her unless you're in the middle of an enemy group.
