A small but important teaser Destiny 2 Rasputin from the game's recent Eliksni Quarter event confirms several theories and may indicate an upcoming revival of SIVA.
As part of the event Destiny 2 "Eilxney Quarter" players collected treasures to improve the living area of Eilxney's allies. Among the improvements to the Eilxney district, Guardians were quick to notice that the robots were wearing Rasputin logos on their sides, a badge that longtime players may remember from the Warmind expansion. Guardians quickly deduced that this could be a tease that Rasputin might have something to do with the next season.
In the Warmind DLC, players first met Rasputin, also known as The Warmind. Ana Bray turned to the Guardian on Mars for help, where she also introduced players to Rasputin, an artificial intelligence who was once sent to protect humanity under the leadership of Clovis Bray.
Prior to the insignia on the Eliksni bots, the last we know about Rasputin is that Ana Bray, daughter of mad scientist and SIVA inventor Clovis Bray, took Rasputin in an engram, although she did not initially seem to know how to access the AI .
The exotic machine gun implies that the younger Bray could use psionic technology to communicate with Rasputin in a form where the entity is "weak and feeble, but alive."
SIVA is a self-replicating, virus-like technology developed by the elder Bray and intended to help humanity. It was originally hidden on Mars in facilities run by Clovis Bray. The Iron Lords then rediscovered the technology and attempted to steal it until Rasputin turned it against them. Corrupted by SIVA, most of the Iron Lords turned against each other until one of them sealed her in a bunker deep within the spaceport, along with the infected Iron Lords who carried the virus. The Fallen then attempted to use the virus to protect the race and free them from their dependence on the Aether, although the Guardian successfully foiled this plan.
Although SIVA is mostly destroyed in the game universe Destiny 2, trace elements may still exist. For example, Wraiths can be infected with SIVA, and while the Light repels her, she can remain dormant inside the shells.
On YouTuber user Evaze suggeststhat Rasputin might return, perhaps even as a Guardian. It has long been known that Felwinter, the Guardian and one of the Iron Lords who was SIVA-infected and died at the spaceport, split from Rasputin, and that it was Rasputin who was responsible for luring Felwinter to discover the SIVA cache at the spaceport, which ended up killing the Iron Lords. Rasputin did this because the Iron Lords' attempts to gain access to SIVA constituted a breach and were therefore treated as hostile by the AI.
The fact that Felwinter was a Guardian means that they wield the power of the Light, which could mean that Rasputin also wields the Light. Rasputin could also possess the Light from his own source, or obtain it through psionic technology similar to the mind reader in HELM.
The appearance of Rasputin is also due to the fact that players already know about the upcoming release Destiny 2 Lightfall. As part of the story of The Witch Queen's Glaive quest, the report mentions that Rasputin knew of a human colony codenamed Nefele Stronghold, the existence of which the residents of the Last City are currently unaware of. The term "Nephele" may be derived from the Greek nymph Nephele, goddess of the clouds. At the last demonstration Destiny 2 Players were shown that on Neomune the Guardians would meet a new race of characters called Cloidstriders. It is implied that Rasputin is the only one who knows about the city, and therefore must be awakened in order to bring all the elements of the storyline together. (Savathun also seems to know about Neomune, but she is currently deceased, although her ghost, Immaru, can supposedly resurrect her).
It's still too early to tell if players can look forward to a SIVA season in Lightfall, but this has been a player request for a long time. Destiny 2. In time, this fits well into the storyline of the game.
Predictions in Vox Obscura quest line implies that the Darkness will overcome the Traveler, which is also hinted at by the name of the Lightfall expansion itself. Assuming this is true, the Guardians will need a powerful source to win the war for the Light. Even if Rasputin regains all his power, the AI has already shown once that it considers its power incapable of resisting the Darkness.
While rumors about a possible SIVA season have been circulating for several years, Bungie recognizes player interest in such technology. Perhaps the team will decide to use this interest before the end of the "Traveler" arc. Destiny 2, which should end when Lightfall ends.

There is much more to unravel, and this is just a simplified version of a complex narrative that implies that SIVA will reappear in some way. Regardless, this storyline gives players a lot to look forward to as players gear up for the Season 19 release date. Destiny 2which is less than two weeks away.
