Microsoft has announced that the upcoming Starfield RPG will cost $70 when it launches in 2023, like all other third-party games developed for the Xbox Series X|S. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that this price increase will apply to new games for the Xbox and Windows platforms and reflects the growing scale and cost of producing and supporting games.

According to IGN Microsoft has said that prices for its own games will increase from $59,99 to $69,99 in 2023. This will apply to the full stable version of Microsoft Games Studios, including Bethesda, which features both Starfield and FPS Redfall co-op vampire hunting. should come out next year.

“Yes, our new full games will be $69,99 on console and PC stores,” a spokesperson told us. "This price reflects the content, scale and complexity of these games, regardless of platform."

The spokesperson noted that these games will also be "available on the first day" from Game Pass.

The release date for Starfield is currently scheduled for the first half of 2023.
