Red Dead Redemption 2 system requirements are already known. Might have taken some time to straddle Steambut it won't take you too long to start rocking those cowboy boots. Rockstar even says you'll have a good time on PC, too, thanks to the graphical and technical improvements over the console versions.
By this point, most gaming PCs are probably already Red Dead Redemption 2 PC compliant, especially if you've upgraded in the last eight to ten years. You'll hit the bare minimum by running an Intel Core i5 2500K or AMD FX 6300 with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 or AMD Radeon R9 280, and even the recommended RAM is only 12GB.
Below are the system requirements for Red Dead Redemption 2:
Minimum | Recommended | |
OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
---|---|---|
Processor | Intel Core i5 2500K AMD FX 6300 | Intel Core i7 4770 AMD Ryzen 5 1500X |
RAM | 8 GB | 12 GB |
graphics processor | Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 AMD Radeon R9 280 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 AMD Radeon RX 480 |
video memory | 2-3 GB | 4-6 GB |
Storage | 150 GB | 150 GB |
The most demanding thing about Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably the amount of storage space it takes up, as you will need to allocate 150GB of space. You can get away with a hard drive, but an SSD can certainly help if you don't want long loading times between long map walks.
When it comes to PC-specific stuff, there's no sign of Red Dead Redemption 2's ray tracing, and Nvidia is telling you not to hold your breath. However, Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR 2.0 will help you boost frame rates even more than your gaming PC is already capable of, which comes in handy when using 4K resolution, multi-monitor configurations, ultra-wide resolution and/or HDR.
