Sons of the Forest Patch 6 is here and things are getting more complicated. At least if you want it. Last update Sons of the Forest introduces Hard Survival difficulty for the first time to one of the best co-op games this year, and also adds stone as a resource that can be collected and used to create all sorts of structures to strengthen your own defenses and build a better base Sons of the Forest.

The Hard Survival Mode is for players who enjoy the torment of finding food and water in difficult environments. When choosing this new difficulty, you will experience a decrease in the amount of food in boxes, a decrease in the number of fish and animals in the world, reduced health and stamina regeneration in the cold, an increased penalty for using raw or rotten meat, and no respawning of boxes for storing items when loading games.

Whether you like this mode or not, adding a stone to Sons of the Forest should make some buildings much stronger. This new resource can be harvested around the world and used to build stone walls, beams and columns, and stone fireplaces. Kelvin will be able to collect and use stone if you ask him to, and it can be placed in the upgraded log sled along with logs, rocks, sticks, and bones.

Among other details of the patch Sons of the Forest (which you can check out below), you will also be able to create your own stuffed animals, quickly pour out the contents of a pot or flask, and put the pot on the fire more easily by holding it. There are plenty of other small updates too: cannibals will now drag off injured friends, a rain trap won't tell you when it's ready until there's enough water to drink properly, and trapped fish will no longer rot before you've collected them. .
