In search FIFA 23 best goalkeepers? It's all well and good to score 3 goals in every game with your star trio, but if you give up 4 goals in return, you'll be rock bottom by the end of the career mode season. Your goalkeeper is the last line of defense when your opponent shoots on goal in this soccer game, so it is very important that you choose the right goalkeeper.

That's why we bring you the best goalkeepers for every budget, whether you manage Real Madrid or Reading, we've got you covered by detailing their stats, cost, expected salary and why we think they are worth purchasing. So, without further ado, here are the best goalkeepers for every budget.

Top Goalkeepers £50m+

These goalkeepers are two of the best in the world who still have room to improve, but they will cost you a pretty penny.

Gianluigi Donnarumma - Paris Saint-Germain (88 OVR - 92 POT)

If you're playing Career Mode, you're probably planning for both the future and the present, and you want a goalkeeper that will stand the test of time - look no further than Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Euro 2020 winner starts the game with an overall rating of 88, and with a potential of 92, you can be sure he will be one of the best goalkeepers in the game. Plus, at 23 years old, he'll be your best goalkeeper for years to come, making him a good value in the long run.

Cost: £110m
Salary: £130k

Mike Maignan - AC Milan (87 OVR - 90 POT)

Having not reached the heights of Donnarumma's potential, Mike Mignan still does not deserve attention. With an overall rating of 87, Maignan matches many of Donnarumma's stats (and even has a decently higher hit) for less. And with a potential rating of 92, while not the best of the best, you'll still get one of the best keepers in the world for significantly less if you prefer to spend your money on other parts of the field.

Cost: £85m
Salary: £95k

Best FIFA 23 goalkeepers: Male kicks the ball

Best Goalkeepers £20m-50m

These goalkeepers have a bit more room to grow, but you still need a significant cash investment to sign them.

Gregor Kobel - Borussia Dortmund (83 OVR - 88 POT)

Gregor Kobel recently replaced veteran Jann Sommer as goalkeeper for Switzerland, and it's easy to see why. 88 reflexes, 84 diving and 81 reflexes make him a tough prospect for any Dortmund striker, and with the potential to rise to an 88 rating, he is certainly a prospect. The perfect player for a team in contention for a European spot that doesn't have the money for the likes of Donnarumma and Minyan.

Cost: £48m
Salary: £55k

Diogo Costa - FC Porto (79 OVR - 86 POT) £25m

You may not know the name Diogo Costa if you don't follow Portuguese football, but the Porto goalkeeper can certainly perform on the big stage. A solid overall rating of 79 is backed by good stats and excellent reflexes of 83, and potential of 86 means he has room to improve. If you've recently moved into the top 5 of the league, Costa could eventually lead your team out of relegation battle and into the European finish line - a great signing.

Cost: £25 million
Salary: £18k

Best FIFA 23 Goalkeepers: Muller pushes the ball around the left post

£5m-20m

If you follow major league football, you will no doubt recognize two names here, and both keepers may have lower stats than they deserve in FIFA 23.

Robert Sanchez - Brighton & Hove Albion (77 OVR – 83 POT)

One of the key figures in Brighton's defensive achievements over the last few seasons, Robert Sanchez's stellar form hasn't reflected in his FIFA 23 rating - all the better for Career Mode managers. His overall rating of 77 suggests a solid, well-rounded player, and despite having played in the Premier League for a number of seasons now, at 24 he could still improve to 83. A decent player at a bargain price, especially if you can lure him to the Championship to advance his career.

Cost: £15 million
Salary: £40k

Florian Müller - VfB Stuttgart (76 OVR - 80 POT)

At first glance, Florian Müller's statistics do not give cause for pride - and this is not so. However, why he's on this list is because he can be had at a bargain price of just £9m. For that money you can get a player on par with several top-flight keepers like Ilan Meslier or Dean Henderson, with potential rising to a rating of 80. If you need a reliable second division keeper but don't have the money to splash out on a wonder baby, Müller could be the one you're looking for.

Cost: £9 million
Salary: £18k

Best FIFA 23 goalkeepers: Vandevort knocks the ball out of his hands

£0-5m

Finally, these bargain buys are young talent with an incredibly high ceiling. You'll still need some money - our guide to the best free agents covers those only asking for a salary - but it's definitely an investment in the future.

Maarten Vandevoordt - K.R.K. Genk (70 OVR – 84 POT)

With a starting overall rating of 70, Maarten Vandevoordt doesn't really stand out among the average goalkeepers in the championship, but at just 20 years old he has the potential for incredible growth, all the way up to a rating of 84. For a team in need of a goalkeeper with several million in the bank, Vandevoordt could take over the spot straight away between the posts and will improve over time in your team - train him correctly and it will be a long time before you are looking for his replacement.

Cost: £3m
Salary: £8k

Lucas Chevalier - GLOSS Lille (67 OVR - 83 POT) £1.25m

In the case of Lucas Chevalier, everything is the same as in the case of Maarten Vandevoordt, only the price is lower. With an overall rating of 67, Chevalier may not even be up to the standards of a Championship level team, but at almost a third of the price he is available to many more clubs and, like Vandevoordt, could improve significantly with a huge upside of 16 points to 83. For a club of level A Ligue 1 player who has the budget to buy him will immediately become one of the best stoppers in the league, and if you're hoping for promotion, a purchase loan might even help you wait until you have a little more money before than you'll make the transfer - a bargain if we've ever seen one.

Cost: £1,2 million
