How to get the ending Sons of the Forest
Before you can reach any ending Sons of the Forest, you must first visit all locations with keycards Sons of the Forestto get the Maintenance Key Card and the VIP Key Card, which you will need to progress. At first, this underground facility isn't too different from the other bunkers you've already explored until you reach the bathroom. You enter the cube as part of a cutscene, after which its door closes behind you. When the timer reaches zero, the far side of the cube opens up to reveal a vision of a futuristic metropolis characterized by gabled skyscrapers and flying vehicles.
In the end, this vision ends, returning back to the wall of the cube. Moments later, the path you came from opens up behind you to reveal a massive mass of flesh unlike any mutant you've encountered so far in the horror game, suggesting that ever since you entered the cube, a lot of time has passed.
Ending Sons of the Forest
There are three game endings Sons of the Forest, and the one you get depends on your companions and whether or not you pick up the backpack right behind your back before boarding the rescue helicopter.
If you decide to take the backpack, the rescue helicopter will fly off without you, leaving you stranded on the island forever. However, not everything is so bad - passing this ending Sons of the Forest unlocks the "Fight Demons" achievement, so you'll get something for all your efforts.
Alternatively, you can hop on a rescue helicopter as you normally would and enjoy the cannibal-infested Endnight Island disappearing into the distance. It is fitting that in this ending Sons of the Forest You'll earn the "Fought Demons" achievement, proving that salvation can be found in the most unlikely places.
Variation of this ending Sons of the Forest also available if you know how to get Virginia in Sons of the Forest, and did not allow Kelvin to die. Although the general features remain the same, both companions also witness the events in the cube and board the helicopter with you. This will unlock the hidden achievement "Keep Your Friends Close" and is the closest thing to a perfect ending to date.
