Following the release of the first trailer for Super Mario Bros Movie, renowned voice actress Tara Strong criticized the casting for the titular plumber.

To everyone's dismay, it was revealed last year that Chris Pratt would play Mario in an adaptation of Illumination's beloved series. In one part, fans were unhappy that the actor, who was associated with a controversial church (which he later noted was not the church he attends, was in fact a different church. also not very). But fans were also unhappy that Mario himself, Charles Martinet, would not be reprising his role. Like fans of the actor, fellow voice actress Tara Strong doesn't look happy either.

Strong, known for a huge number of roles, in particular, the role of Harley Quinn, and Timmy Turner from Fairly Odd Parent, shared a photo of herself and Martine with the caption "It must be Charles," apparently referencing the film's recently released first trailer.

The voice of the actress followed this with tweet , who is quite scathing about Hollywood in general, writing: “Voice actors—I'm going to put my heart and soul into this for at least 20 years, help sell billions of products, make millions of dollars for studios, and make generations around the world happy. Hollywood - we don't care."

Strong also later posted a tweet asking fans to share any sweet stories related to Martine, saying that she "knows an angel on earth that could use a little love." In its turn, Martine replied, saying, “Your love and kindness means more than you could ever know and has truly touched my heart. My little eyes seem to be leaking today... from tender affection. Thank you…"

It's not uncommon for video game characters to get famous actors for roles in film adaptations, like Ben Schwartz took on the role of Sonic the Hedgehog for live-action films. Apart from the obvious problems with Pratt, the problem is that voice actors are often not appreciated for the way they do their job.

Pratt himself is not a voice actor, although he has performed several voice roles, while Schwartz regularly performs voice roles for shows such as the reboot of Ducktales and The Rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Martinet is expected to make a couple of cameos in the Mario movie, and they will undoubtedly be better than the half-serious attempt at a Brooklyn accent that Pratt struggled to achieve, and it's a far cry from the case that he "looks nothing like what you heard,” inflating his you-know-what.
