Recent animated short Genshin Impact Dehya has encouraged Chinese players to donate thousands to one of the country's charities for disadvantaged children. In the teaser for the anime game, we see Dehiya making a significant donation to help the orphans of the Sumeru Desert escape the harsh conditions into which they were born. Actual donations from players go to the Chinese charity Project of Hope, a student assistance project aimed at improving the learning and living conditions of children.

Considering the fact that Genshin Impact is a Chinese game, fans believe that it is no coincidence that Dehia named her charity "Wall of Hope", when in fact there is a charity called "Project of Hope" and they both support children in one way or another.

In the short, Dehiya uses a mora amount described as "all her savings" to create a charity foundation in the city of Sumeru immediately after rescuing a child from sandstorms in the desert. This all sounds like something of a positive call to action, especially if you know about Project Hope.

Thousands of Chinese players donated 680 yuan (80 pounds Sterling / $98) each is the maximum amount you can pay to top up your Genshin Genesis Crystals up to 6480 in China via the game's microtransactions.

Along with donations, they also leave messages on Project of Hope web page with the words "Dehya Wall of Hope". This, along with Dehya's quote about Samiel Sumeru's Wall separating the desert from the city proper: "This wall was never meant to keep things out. It was for protection."

Dehya really brings real benefits to children both in Sumeru and beyond. It's great to see a short, one-shot teaser make such a huge impact.

Version 3.5 Genshin Impact will be released in less than 24 hours, so you'll soon be able to compete with Dehia and Kaino in the first half of the update.
