There is no Halo Infinite Firefight game mode, but a question to 343 Industries about Halo Infinite Forge suggests that sometime in the future, fans may be able to get the tools to create an AI-assisted Firefight in the campaign. There are no promises or official dates for all of this, but it shows once again that 343 knows what the community wants and is constantly deciding what and when to add FPS to the game.

Some developers from 343 Industries gathered on the community stage at the Halo World Cup in Seattle where they talked about community feedback, future plans for multiplayer, and more.

Some of the key comments come from Forge development lead Michael Shore and multiplayer creative director Tom French, who responded to a fan's question at the event about the possibility of something like Firefight being created in Forge at some point. This forced the team on stage to answer "a question about AI in the [in Forge] campaign."

“That comes first, obviously I can’t talk about too much. We heard it all, we heard the message loud and clear,” Shore says.

“Like Halo 5 when people figured out how to throw bots in there. [Forge], they were like, 'you idiots, we have AI here,' and I was like, 'It's a turret because it doesn't move,'" French adds. He then says that the bots couldn't move because of the NavMesh (at the time) and goes on to explain how 343 Industries creates new things over time, before telling the person who asked the question that Firefight could hypothetically appear in the Forge in the future.

If you'd like to learn more about the team, we've cut out all the interviews from the Halo Infinite Forge community scene for you.

French's mention of Halo 5 is reminiscent of how players found a way to write basic aggressive AI in that game's Forge mode, which (on paper) showed how players could create their own Firefight-like mode. It seems that 343 is trying to convey something similar here, saying that in time, when all the necessary tools appear, players will be able to create something similar to Firefight.

Keep in mind that this is a hypothesis and not a promise, suggesting that 343 has no current plans to add a Gunfight mode, instead focusing on other areas of development.
