This weekend saw the Gran Turismo World Finals as well as the 25th Anniversary of Gran Turismo. During the event, it was revealed that Polyphony Digital may be bringing Gran Turismo 7 to PC platforms.

After speaking with Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, GTPlanet asked for the opinion of the game's developer. With Sony making the move to bring some of its series to PC, including God of War and Spider-Man, it begs the question if Yamauchi would consider porting the Gran Turismo series to PC.

“Yes, I think so,” Yamauchi said. “Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned game. There aren't many platforms that can run a game in 4K/60p, so one way to make this possible is to narrow down the platforms..."

“This is not a very simple question, but of course we are looking at it and thinking about it.”

Gran Turismo 7 is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with the latest console supporting the game in 4k/60p with ray tracing in menus and replays. However, porting the game to PC will surely attract more and more players.

Being a PlayStation exclusive since its introduction in 1997, this port would certainly be a big deal for the series. However, for now, fans and those who want to play the racing game on PC will have to wait for some more news about the series. While Yamauchi's answer to the question about the PC port of Gran Turismo 7 is encouraging, it's unknown when that will happen.
