Chaos Dwarves are coming to Total War: Warhammer 3. This is not the last, bewildered whine of my sick mind, this is a statement of fact: the Chaos Dwarves DLC will finally appear in Total War: Warhammer 3 along with update 3.0 on April 13th.
Chorfs, as they are also called, have long been a welcome addition. If you're unfamiliar with them, they're the Vicious Gnomes: A band of vicious mechanics who use large, smoking machines made of steel and sorcery to commit war crimes. Naturally, the players love them, and everyone is very excited that they will finally appear in Total War: Warhammer 3.
The Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC will include “three fierce and furious Legendary Lords,” that is, “Astragoth Iron Hand, High Priest of Hashut; Dragoat the Ash, sorcerer-prophet of Hashuta; and Zhatan Cherny, commander of the Tower of Zharra."
They are supported by a new hero, "the one and only legendary hero of the hobgoblins, Gordus Backstabber himself." With a name like that, I think "dreaded servant of the Chaos Dwarves" is one of the few career paths open to you. Old Gorduz will also "upgrade the hobgoblins" around him when he's on the board, as befits a great general.
Total War: Warhammer 3's new Chaos Dwarves faction and characters come with all sorts of new bells and whistles. You'll be able to use chaotic magic for good (bad) purposes with the new Lore of Hashut, build new items like the Great Drill of Hashut (which allows you to "open up Hashut's domain and drain his blood for cataclysmic powers"), and use over 26 new units, including all sorts of terrible machines and infernal warriors.
The game community seems to be very interested in the new faction. One of the user comments chase_half_face on the Total War subreddit says: "I just can't believe one of my favorite Warhammer factions will be playable after all these years." Another user Haha91haha, writes: “Everything looks amazing, as usual, no, even BETTER than usual, with the reflections of the fire and the shine of the metal.”
