The Weapon Destiny 2 Nightfall October 11 to 18 - Mindmage's Ambition, a legendary solar-powered shotgun. The ideal shotgun's benefits include Slide (sliding partially reloads the weapon's magazine and temporarily increases control and stability), Glow (hitting a target spreads burns to those nearby), and One-Two Strike (hitting an enemy with every bullet when fired increases melee damage for a short time).
This week's Nightfall strike is The Lightblade, set in Savathûn's Throne World. The goal is to return the artifact from the Oryx monument. Many consider this blow to be one of the most difficult in Destiny 2, especially on Grandmaster difficulty. Successfully completing it will give players the opportunity to obtain the Mindmage's Ambition.
Starting October 4th, Grandmaster Nightfalls have returned to the game. Players can now obtain Adept versions of Nightfall weapons by completing the weekly Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty.
As in Trials of Osiris, adept weapons gain +3 to every stat (except hit) when mastercrafted, as well as the usual +10 to proficiency. This is the only weapon that can be equipped with powerful adept mods, so it's worth looking for if it's available.
