Chicken Race, an underrated Aardman cartoon, has become something of a cult classic in recent years. Compared to franchises like Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run is often overlooked despite being a great film.
Therefore, the sequel was a surprise, but not an unpleasant one. Aardman's next film will be Chicken Race 2: Dawn of the Nugget.

Chicken Race 2 release date: when will it be released?
The premiere of the film "Chicken Race 2: Dawn of the Nugget" is expected on November 10, 2023. It will be available exclusively on Netflix.
Chicken Run 2 was announced in 2018, but animation takes a long time, so the film is still in production.

At the time of writing, unfortunately, there is no official trailer for the film “Chicken Race 2”. There is only an image of the egg hatching under Ginger and Rocky, which can be seen at the top of this article.

"Chicken Run 2" Cast: Who's in the Movie?
Chicken Run 2 features several returning voices as well as some new ones. Here is the official cast list:

New cast members include Nick Mohammed, Josie Sedgwick-Davies and Bella Ramsey as Dr. Fry, Frizzle and Molly.
However, the two actors will not be returning, and these are in fact the two lead actors in the film. Julia Savalha will not return as Ginger and will be replaced by Tandiwe Newton. Mel Gibson will also not be returning as Rocky, being replaced by Zachary Levi.
Plot of "Chicken Race 2": What is it about?
The official synopsis for Chicken Run 2 reads: “After a deadly escape from Tweedy's farm, Ginger finally finds her dream of a peaceful island retreat for the whole pack, far from the dangers of the human world.
“When she and Rocky hatch a girl named Molly, Ginger thinks her happy ending is complete. But on the mainland, the entire chicken race faces a new terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk - this time they break through!"
The first film, in which chickens had to escape from a farm to certain death, was a children's version of the war film The Great Escape. Therefore, the sequel will likely continue to depict war films, perhaps exploring how the escape affected the characters.
There's also the question of what "Dawn of the Nuggets" means. Will the plot involve chicken nuggets? Or could this be a reference to a new character? If Nuggets is a newly hatched chicken, as the film's promotional image suggests, then we can assume it will involve actor Bella Ramsey, since she is the youngest of the cast.
But either way, we can be sure that the upcoming family movie will be egg-flavored.
