Looking for how to defeat the final boss and escape the island in the last chapter 16 in Resident Evil 4 Remake? We have a walkthrough. We've finally reached the final chapter of Resident Evil 4 Remake. Leon (and Ashley) have dealt with a hell of a lot so far, Leon defeating giants, lake monsters and a few Parsites in the process.

However, Leon has one more thing to do before taking Ashley home, and that is to make sure that this island and the Las Plagas parasite are gone for good. Alas, it's time to meet with the main boss Saddler and burn the island to the ground. Here is a step by step guide on how to how to defeat Saddler and escape the island in the last chapter of Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 16

After taking Ashley to Luis' lab in chapter 15, Leon will also succumb to the Las Plaga parasite. Don't worry, though, because Ashley will have our back. At the beginning of Chapter 16, Leon will wake up as rain again. Now it's time to get off this cursed island.

Exit Luis' lab and ask Ashley to lower the folding ladder to your left.

Drop this ladder.

Climb the stairs and follow the path to the Sanctuary. At the end of the Sanctuary, you can find the Illuminados pendant. However, on the right side of the room, where there seems to be a dead end, you can grab onto a ledge.

Jump onto this ledge.

Continue down the next tunnel until you reach the Merchant. If you have unfinished business in Resident Evil 4, it will now warn you that it's time to take care of it.

Once we get outside and really start Chapter 16, there's no turning back! However, be sure to do whatever you want to do with the Merchant right now, as we're about to face the sinister Osmund Sadler.

When you're ready, go outside and take the elevator down to Ada.

How to beat Osmund Saddler in Resident Evil 4 Remake

After the cutscene, we'll be fighting the last boss in Resident Evil 4, Saddler, who has become a spider, as his mutated form looks terribly like an alien arachnid. Let's also not forget that there are a dozen novistadors around him, helping to divert your attention from shooting at him.

Grab the novistadors as soon as they appear so they don't surround you. The rest of the time we want to aim for the glowing eyes on Saddler's limbs. When you successfully damage all the eyes, he will stumble, giving us the opportunity to hit his head with an eye or shoot him with a hefty shot.

Saddler has several attacks that he can inflict on us. First, you will need to avoid some of his attacks by dodging them when prompted. Other times he will hit you with his claws; you need to run to avoid them, or just keep your distance. As he climbs the arena, he will also throw debris at you, which you should avoid.

Resident Evil 4 boss
Gross.

Keep an eye on him as he directly jumps on Leon, and on occasion he will spit out some caustic saliva at you. Yum. Other times it will try to hit you with one of its many sharp limbs. Ultimately, this battle consists of a lot of running back and forth, trying to find the right time to pop those beady eyes.

As the fight goes on, the Saddler will slowly break down parts of the boss arena, gradually confining you to a smaller space. So, run around and search the area as early as possible if you're short on ammo or medicine.

At close range, I personally found that my fully upgraded pistol did the job (I used a Blacktail for most of my first run). When I struggled, the shotgun was better so you could hit Saddler's weak spots without needing to aim accurately.

In the distance, as Saddler begins to climb the surrounding beams of the arena, I draw my Stingray rifle with the biosensor sight attached. This made targeting those Saddler's eyes very easy and also super satisfying.

Don't forget that you can use your grenades while Saddler is on the ground for extra damage. You might as well use whatever you have left!

After three melee attacks on the giant, a cutscene will play. We then face the second phase of that right, in which the Saddler boss in Resident Evil 4 Remake turns into a huge pile of writhing tentacles. Shoot him and dodge his attacks until Ada comes to save the day with a grenade launcher.

defeat the boss of Resident Evil 4
Thanks Ada.

Use the grenade launcher to finish Saddler off for good. That's all you need to know to defeat the final boss and escape the island in Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 16.

How to escape the island in Resident Evil 4 Remake

After the next cutscene, it's time for Leon and Ashley to escape the island before it explodes. You will now have a short timer and all you have to do is run straight ahead. The path from here to our trip is completely linear and there are no enemies to worry about!

When you get to the boat, use the key on it and jump aboard. Now the fun begins! Drive out of the cave, dodging the next rocks and trying not to crash into obstacles. If the boat gets too damaged, your mission will fail at the last hurdle, and we don't want that.

For some reason, I couldn't help but shake my controller like I was playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe every time Leon ran over the ramp. I hope I wasn't alone in this. In any case, you will sigh as soon as you get out of this cave and it will all be over!

Enjoy the final videos and be sure to wait for the credits to start, a pleasant surprise awaits you. Congratulations on completing Resident Evil 4, now do it again in New Game Plus!
