How to get a cable launcher in the game Sons of the Forest
Before heading out, be aware that there are quite a few enemies in this cave, so make sure you have the health and weapons you need to survive.
In the first large cavern inside, head left and follow the ridge of the small divided room until you reach two corpses and a very scary, screeching monster wedged into a narrow opening in the cavern. There are two time bombs lying next to one of the dead workers, which you need to pick up and throw at this enemy in order to clear a path forward.
After that, you have a long, long way to go through a lot of enemies to get to the cable launcher. There are two forks in the path to watch out for.
- At the first fork: Keep left towards the tunnel with the ore chunks on the sides.
- At the second fork: Keep going to the right to a stalactite area with a low ceiling and stagnant water.

If you feel like you've been walking forever, I know I do too. Even on peaceful difficulty, it felt like a hike. In normal mode, it's full of dangerous creatures with open chests, little kids that jump on you, and other horrors that you'll be familiar with if you've already rummaged around the island a bit.
You'll eventually reach the top of the cliff, where there's an open box on the ground to your left with a zipline launcher waiting for you. Like the respirator, you'll use your new equipment to escape the cave. Arm yourself with a pistol and shoot it once towards the bottom of the cave, and a second time directly above your own head, using the already established line as a guide.
