Red Dead Redemption 2 has a new Halloween update, which seems to be good news for fans of rockstar's key western sandbox game, but don't rip out the jumping apples and pumpkins just yet as it's the same content that was launched in October 2021. you just have one more chance to get it while we wait for the release date of GTA 6.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has slowly faded since last July's seemingly final content update for Red Dead Online, Blood Money, was released. Rockstar has acknowledged that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be its main development focus going forward, and has also posted an official farewell to RDR 2 in the game's credits. Still, fans remain loyal, and the promise of a new update may cheer up dedicated shepherds who aren't yet ready to tip their hats to the famous sandbox western.

On the other hand, the Halloween Pass 2 brings back all of the additions from Red Dead Online in October 2021, including new masks, clothing like the Boucher coat, and extra accessories like the Glabella lantern. On the other hand, if you bought the pass last year, this is nothing new for you at all - it's just a chance for players who missed last Halloween to pick up all the spooky gear for a second time.

It's unlikely that Red Dead Redemption 2 will get any truly fresh content in the future, but perhaps some of the classic passes, like the first Outlaw pass, could make a comeback. Otherwise, your best chance to bring the western sandbox to life again is with mods like the recent overhaul of the hit detection and death animation systems.

Considering the time of year, this is the perfect time to try out some of the other top Halloween games, or maybe some other great western games if you have the urge to finally say goodbye to Red Dead Redemption 2. You might also want to go back to good old GTA with some of the best GTA 5 mods guaranteed to bring Los Santos to life.
