The Silent Hill Announcement Live Stream almost here! Announced just a few days ago, Konami has put together a gigantic, highly publicized event that will feature the latest details on the next installment in the Silent Hill franchise, which has sadly been missing from the modern gaming space. The stream will take place at 2PM PDT / 10PM BST / 5PM ET / 4PM CT today (Oct 19)at which point the entire Silent Hill community (a mixture of really old people who have actually played good games and young people who are only pretending to look cool in front of their gamer friends) will tune in to the game.
Silent Hill is one of those video game franchises that has a lot of weight behind it. First hitting the market with the amazing Silent Hill in 1999, the game didn't reach its peak until the release of the legendary Silent Hill 2 just two years later in 2001. It was a game that set a new bar in the world of horror video games, with a narrative that in the minds of many remains unrivaled by the rest of the series, and indeed the genre as a whole.
We don't know what exactly to expect from the press conference, other than some kind of revelation. One of our writers, Kelsey, suggested that we might need to temper our expectations for the next step in the Silent Hill journey. A fair offer, especially considering that the last few games in the series have been either outright failures or average in quality.
The series is also a source of speculation and conjecture, with a lot of people making their predictions after alleged leaks of information about games in development, including from the Blooper Team project. Whether they turn out to be true or not will become known in the coming hours, which will further increase the excitement around the stream.
