The game features a completely new combat system and skill tree that allows for strategic combat. You can combine moves like dodge, parry, counters, combos, and the new Cyloop ability to take down enemies and titans.
Sonic Frontiers will feature a skill tree for the first time in a Sonic game. It allows you to get powerful new abilities that can be unlocked by collecting enough Skill Pieces from fallen enemies, as well as breaking items on the islands.
Sonic's standard set of moves, such as homing attack, drop dash, and stomp, are available at the start of the game. Although they are effective against normal enemies, you will need to level up and gain new skills in order to fight stronger enemies. If you want to deal even more damage, you can use Sonic Boom, which is a high-speed, long-range strike that creates shockwaves in short bursts.
Another move, Wild Rush, is a zigzag attack that causes Sonic to slam into the target with great force.
You can also parry your opponent's moves, and visual cues will let you know when he's about to attack. A fast enough reaction will allow you to parry and counterattack.
Sonic Frontiers releases November 8 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
