The Ark Winter Wonderland update has been released for the dinosaur survival game, adding expanded story content with cinematic scenes for each Ark map, as well as additional voices for existing content, including Dr Who actor David Tennant voicing various cases and encounters in the game. The “Winter Wonderland” event has also appeared in the game, during which you can receive gifts and lapwings, as well as tame the dinosaurs of the Ark.

The Ark Expanded Story Content Update is a free patch for all platforms that introduces several brand new scenes and story content. It stars Tennant reprising his role as chemist Sir Edmund Rockwell, while Wheel of Time star Madeleine Madden returns as paleontologist Helena Walker. Both of them recorded full voice lines for all of their respective in-game dossiers and Explorer's Notes, as well as lines for the confrontation with Rockwell on the Aberration Ark.

Celebrations are also actively held: from December 14 to January 5, the Ark Winter Wonderland event takes place. It features increased stats, meaning you'll get huge bonuses for XP, harvesting, taming and breeding animals, as well as a 50% increase in hexes. You will be able to see Klaus the raptor in the sky dropping all sorts of gifts for the survivors. The game has elite loot, as well as mistletoe and coal, which can be exchanged for skins, cosmetics, equipment, and twelve new chibi pets.

Meanwhile, Ark multiplayer game: Survival of the Fittest will receive a crossplay prototype starting December 23rd. The game, which flopped somewhat due to players having difficulty finding active servers, has been "reimagined from the ground up with reworked mechanics," according to the developers.
