Total War: Warhammer 3's next update is set to release on October 18th and it will add a new endgame crisis for Immortal Empires.

The next Total War: Warhammer 3 update should arrive around October 18th, and when it does, you can expect a new possible endgame crisis for Immortal Empires' big unified campaign. The Creative Assembly has hinted that the fantasy strategy's next doomsday scenario will feature the Skaven, which is quite in line with how the world of Warhammer canonically ended a few years ago.

In the Total War: Warhammer III Patch 2.1.2 Patch Notes, the Creative Assembly notes that it expects Patch 2.2 to launch on October 18th, and provides a basic list of changes we can expect in this patch. It will, for example, fix a crash at the end of the turn, as well as make some necessary improvements to the AI of enemies and battles for settlements.

Skaven Warhammer

The patch also states that a new end-game crisis will be included in the game, and includes a distinctly Skaven "yes-yes" as a side note.

For those unfamiliar with Immortal Empires, when you start a new campaign, you have the option to choose one or more endgame scenarios that will be triggered at certain points in the game. All of them are based on interesting pieces of Warhammer End Times history - currently available options include The Black Pyramid, A Grudge Too Far, Da Biggest Waagh!, The Wild Hunt and Vampiric Ascension.

Typically, Immortal Empires will choose one of your chosen crises to determine how your campaign ends. However, you can also select "ultimate crisis mode", which will force all selected crises to trigger together at the end of your game.
