A new Stardew Valley mod aims to completely overhaul the farming game, reworking almost all of the game's mechanics and offering a "much more fun and immersive Vanilla+ experience." The mod, somewhat similar to The Sims mod, uses modular changes to help you create your own experience.

The mod for the indie game is called "DaLion's Modular Gameplay Overhaul" and was developed by the award-winning DaLion. The Stardew Valley mod, which took over a year to complete, improves various parts of the game but gives you the ability to choose what to turn on and off, while still maintaining the ideas of the base game.

“This mod is a compilation of overhaul modules, each targeting a specific gameplay component or mechanic. Together, the modules complement each other to create an enhanced “vanilla+” experience,” says DaLion.

"The modular nature of this mod allows users to choose features to their liking while maintaining the deep native integration required between individual modules."

You can customize professions, weapons and tools, the iridium strip and ponds, and it even adds some new ideas. “Professions is the original and largest module,” says Dallion. “It overhauls all professions in the game to support more diverse and interesting playstyles. It also introduces a completely new Prestige mechanic for very late game save files, as well as exciting new supers for combat professions.”

According to DaLion, taxes are also part of the new Conservative profession, and they're adding a tax system that should give you a "simple but realistic" challenge for the gold shell late in the game. You can find the Stardew Valley mod on the website Nexus Mods.
