Layers of Fear, formerly called Layers of Fears is due out in June, according to the Bloober Team.
The news of the release window was announced today in a short trailer.
2023 release includes the 2016 game as well as its Inheritance expansion and sequel Layers of Fear 2, each updated on Unreal Engine 5 with new game mechanics, horror stories, and a new chapter called The Final Note that expands on the story of the original game. The chapter will be told from the point of view of the antagonist, the Artist's wife.
At the announcement, Bloober Team said they are bringing back a franchise that is truly special to them and wants to give players a fresh gaming experience that will shed new light on the overall story.
The studio originally planned to recreate the games, but didn't want to make them "a simple collection of two remasters", so they chose the current approach.
Layers of Fear will be released on PC Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
