The new Apex Legends map Broken Moon is giving Respawn battle royale fans a ton of trouble, leaving them trapped between the ring and the anvil. The map, introduced as part of Apex Legends Season 15, is home to the stylish gothic technomancer and new Apex Legends character Catalyst. Players have already found some adorable secrets in the latest expansion, including the Cosmic Nessie family, but they're also finding their geometry caught them by surprise in the latter stages of the rounds.
In some cases, later rings near the end of a match seem to trap players on the wrong side of cliffs that they can't get around without getting into a deadly heat zone. A key example of this has received a lot of attention on Reddit Apex Legends, where дебаты continues as to whether such rings are a problem or, in fact, a feature. While it can be frustrating to realize that you're stuck on the wrong side of the abyss and almost doomed to failure, some players say they enjoy how it rewards careful understanding of the situation.
One response says, “It happened to me yesterday. Fortunately, I realized that we needed to get out of this situation quickly, but unfortunately, despite my constant signals, my teammate did not understand this.” Responding to the poster's initial situation, one thread suggests that "the player's situational awareness seems to be somewhat reduced", suggesting that this should not be considered a bug and that players should be mindful of how the rings will close - with some notations that the ring should always finish on the side with more space.
However, others point out that it's not immediately obvious that this is the case, and that the Respawn team has previously asked players to report rings that close in unfamiliar places so they can resolve them with future patches. In the meantime, however, always be mindful of where the ring closes next, especially when it comes to impassable geometry.
