A new trailer for Redfall sheds light on the various bloodsuckers that players will have to fight in the cooperative vampire shooter from Arkane Studios. The multiplayer first-person shooter will take players to the quiet seaside town of Redfall, which, unfortunately, has been taken over and transformed by a huge squad of coffin crawlers. Delaying Redfall's release to 2023 has unfortunately pushed back the city-wide vampire hunt, but a new trailer recently revealed some new enemies that will haunt the city's streets when the game finally launches.

When will Redfall be released?

Redfall release date set for first half of 2023

While Redfall looks very different from past Arkane Studios games like Dishonored or Prey, the vampire shooter promises to deliver a solid and immersive experience. The game was designed from the ground up for co-op play, with four different heroes with their unique skills creating a wide range of viable playstyles. Redfall itself, according to the developers, will be quite expansive, and the atmosphere and environmental stories will make exploration as fun as in past Arkane games. Although Redfall is a co-op vampire shooter, the stealth systems and RPG mechanics promise to make the undead adventure truly exciting.

A new trailer for Redfall, released by Bethesda Softworks, shows off several new vampires that players will have to deal with as they retake the peaceful seaside town. The Angler looks like a particularly deceptive creature, and the creepy Watcher is even more grotesque. The Watcher seems to be emphasizing Redfall's stealth element, suggesting that players will be able to sneak past these ugly figures if they avoid their spotlights. One short section of the trailer also shows the player being ambushed in the dark by another aggressive bloodsucker, suggesting that the co-op shooter will occasionally delve into the realm of survival horror.

Redfall will provide players with a variety of vampires

Redfall horror game Trailer Release date Review

It was revealed last year that Doom developer id Software is helping with Redfall, which is set to combine Arkane's addictive RPG gameplay with intense first-person shooter action. Previous Arkane games like Dishonored and Prey have done a great job of creating unique worlds and deep interaction with the environment, but shooting enemies with big guns has always taken a backseat. Luckily, id Software is well positioned to deliver a fast-paced shooter with an impressive variety of enemies, as 2020's Doom Eternal demonstrated.

Vampires are some of pop culture's most iconic monsters, but Redfall promises a fresh take on the brutal, blood-sucking hordes. The enemies in the game look incredibly aggressive due to their bloodthirsty nature, and special enemies like the Angler and Watcher will hopefully add a lot of variety to each combat encounter. Fighting on the streets with a friend will undoubtedly make the game less scary, but special vampire units can still make Redfall a tense and even frightening experience.
