If you're after more Half-Life 2 VR, then you're in luck. After the incredible success of Valve's own Half-Life: Alyx and the fantastic Half-Life 2 VR mod, the creators of the latter are back with new virtual reality adventures for the classic FPS game, with support for all headsets SteamVR including Meta Quest 2, HTC Vive and Valve Index. Half-Life 2 VR Mod Episode One is out now Steamand it looks impressive.

Created by the Source VR Mod Team behind the base Half-Life 2 VR Mod, this adaptation of Episode One puts you back in the shoes of everyone's favorite silent protagonist Gordon Freeman as he returns to City 17 and teams up with Alyx Vance. With a fully integrated radial menu, functional sights, two-handed weapons and manual reloading, plus an optional laser sight and quick reload availability settings, all the modern conveniences of virtual reality are right at your fingertips.

Perhaps the biggest attraction that can be seen in the announcement trailer below is how much fun the VR gravity gun can be. Arguably one of the most iconic weapons in any first-person shooter, collecting everything from barrels to Combine soldiers with the Zero Point Energy Field and throwing them around your environment is as much pure joy today as it was in 2004. and it gets even better when the weapon is in your hands for real (well, virtually).

The mod is suitable for all headsets supported SteamVR, including Valve Index, Meta Quest 2 and HTC Vive - so if you've got one of the best VR headsets on PC, you should be fine. It even includes support for bHaptics vests, so if you really need to feel immersed in the game with your entire body, it's there.

Half-Life 2 VR Mod Episode One - went out in Steam. It's free to play, but you'll need to own the original Half-Life 2 Episode One game on your account (not just through family sharing). However, you do not need to have the original game installed to play this VR conversion.
