Legacy of Kain may see some return as a recent poll from Crystal Dynamics asks fans about the series.

Earlier this year, Square Enix sold a number of its IPs and several studios to Embrace Group, which owned the rights to Legacy of Kain, as well as Crystal Dynamics. Of course, this has led some fans to hope that this could mean some kind of revival of the series, because what could be better than now? Well, Kain fans might be in luck as Crystal Dynamics released a survey (which you can fill out in the here) asks some questions that definitely give the impression that he's interested in bringing the series back.

The poll asks various questions about the series, and if, like me, you haven't played the games but have heard of them, it asks why you haven't. It also asks more vaguely about vampire games in general, and what features you like about vampire games.

She also directly asks you about potential remasters, reboots, and sequels, so at least someone at Crystal Dynamics knows there's potential for Legacy of Kain to return in one form or another.

It's also interesting to note that one of the questions asks if you'd like a hypothetical new game to be single-player or multiplayer. The latest entry in the series, Nosgoth, was a free-to-play multiplayer spin-off that went into open beta in 2015, but the servers were shut down the following year.

The original games were typical adventure platformers, a genre you don't often see outside of the indie world these days, so if the Legacy of Kain series returns with a new installment, it might be a little different than fans remember it to be.
