Amplitude Games, developer of Humankind, has announced a free weekend for Humankind. The Civilization-style historical strategy game from the developers of Endless Space and Endless Legend is one of the best 4X games on PC right now. just imagine something a little different. Luckily, anyone who wants to try it out can do so, as Humankind will be free to play for a few days to celebrate the release date of its first expansion, Together We Rule.

You can play Humankind for free from October 6 to October 10 at Steam. as part of the SEGA Megamix sale. If you like what you see, the game itself will be on sale at half price during the sale, with additional discounts of up to 33% on additional culture packs such as the Humankind Latin America DLC. Plus, you can pre-order the first complete Humankind expansion for 10% off before it launches in November.

The Humankind: Together We Rule release date is November 9th.. The upcoming expansion focuses on international diplomacy and introduces the "Congress of Humanity" along with embassies, agents, a new diplomatic affinity allowing its cultures to play a more active role in world politics, six new cultures (Sumerians, Hans, Bulgarians, Swiss, Scots and Singaporeans), six new wonders and new story events and music.

However, that's not all - the free Metternich update for humanity will also be released on November 9th. This will be available to all players, whether they own the expansion or not, and introduces new stealth mechanics, as well as updating Independents to allow third-part reinforcements to be used during battles, as well as adding new options and UI improvements.
