Netflix has unveiled the first look at the upcoming action film Mother starring Jennifer Lopez, which is slated for release in May 2023.

Lopez, who will play a deadly female killer forced to come out of hiding to protect her daughter, has a first look at the upcoming film. The film also stars Joseph Fiennes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwicke, Paul Rasi and Gael Garcia Bernal.

The film's script was written by Misha Green (Lovecraft Country) with editing by Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton). Lopez will also produce alongside Elaine Goldsmith Thomas through her Nuyorican Productions. Green and Benny Medina are also attached to produce, along with Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Miri Yoon. Katherine Hagedorn has also joined the project as executive producer, with Courtney Baxter serving as associate producer.

The project will be Lopez's latest collaboration with Netflix, which is developing a film adaptation of The Cipher, which centers on Lopez as an FBI agent. The singer's other award-winning films include Anaconda, Maid in Manhattan, Enough, Monster in Law, Selena and Hunters. The last two films earned her two Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.
