Eureka Orthos Deep Dungeon is an ever-changing dungeon in Update 6.35 Final Fantasy XIV, whose architecture changes each time players enter the structure. All players will start at level 81, and only by fighting the enemies within will they be able to gain the power and experience needed to reach the lower depths of this deep dungeon. Let's take a look at how Eureka Orthos works in Final Fantasy XIV.

Where to find Eureka Orthos Deep Dungeon in FFXIV

You can dive into the Eureka Orthos at any Battle Job Level 81 or higher by talking to Hatun in Mor Dhon (X:34.8 Y:19.2) after unlocking him through the Mythic Dive questline. Players can enter alone or as part of a group of up to four players. You can also save your progress and return later where you last left off. Once you get to the 30th floor, you will have the option to start from the 1st floor to the 21st when creating a new save file.

Keep in mind that your progress in previous Deep Dungeons dungeons does not affect Eureka Orthos. You must start over and rebuild your strength here.

How to get Eureka Orthos in FFXIV

The goal of Eureka Orthos is to become stronger by diving from floor to floor, eventually gaining enough levels and strength to overcome the object. Your level inside the Deep Dungeon is not directly related to your level outside the dungeon. Gear doesn't matter either, as you'll automatically get the Orthos Aetherpool Gear, which is unique to the dungeon and can be enhanced through chest mining and passing Eureka Orthos.

Floors up to 30 are connected to the story of Eureka Orthos, so floors beyond it cannot be randomly queued for the corresponding party. If you die at any point during the playthrough, you will return to the start of the Deep Dungeon corresponding to the highest floor completed in multiples of ten (i.e. if you die on the 21st, you will return to the 20th).

Along the way, players will collect treasure chests to gain buffs or navigate the dungeon as protomanders. You can keep up to three of each at any time between parties. There are new ones in Eureka Orthos not available in other Deep Dungeons. They can be useful for dealing with various traps scattered across the floors.

What are Demiclones in Final Fantasy XIV?

New in Eureka Orthos is the use of demiclones. Sometimes you can get tombstones from treasure chests that can be used to craft Demiclones. These items can be used by all party members once purchased, and the party can store up to three tombstones at a time. Gravestones cannot be taken outside of Eureka Orthos. While in a matched group, they cannot be used after completing a set of floors. Demiclones will follow them and fight alongside the player who created them. Each demiclone has unique strengths, so choose carefully to turn the tide in your favor.

Players will be able to experience the power of dire beasts by defeating them in Eureka Orthos. These are temporary buffs that turn the player into a creature and allow them to use new abilities with great benefits.

Rewards for Eureka Orthos in Final Fantasy XIV

Finding the Cursed Hoard treasure chests in Eureka Orthos will allow the player to retrieve them and bring Valeroin to Mor Dhona (X:34.9 Y:19.1) to evaluate them and find out what's inside. Most of the time you'll be earning Commemorative Stones, XP, and Gil, but there are also rare rewards that can be obtained from caches found in the upper floors of the Deep Dungeon.

Any stash turned in on the 30th floor or above will also give an Orthos Ethereal Lake Fragment. This is used to power up your Orthos Ethereal Lake Weapon in order to eventually use it outside of Eureka Orthos.
