Credits are one of Honkai Star Rail's many currencies and one of the most affordable. They are used for a variety of basic activities throughout the game and function similarly to the Gold Coins of Blight that you purchased in Genshin Impact.
What to use credits for in Honkai Star Rail
In Honkai Star Rail, you will primarily use funds to upgrade any character or equipment. While you need certain materials to level up characters, light cones, and relics, you'll find that these too come with a maintenance fee; you will pay it using your credits.
Leveling up your characters and their items costs a small amount of credits.
If you want to level up a lot of characters and equipment, then having a solid supply of credits is great.
How to get more credits in Honkai Star Rail
You can easily get more credits in Honkai Star Rail. If I'm being honest, you can get them from most Honkai Star Rail activities and even from destroying items in your environment.
If you're looking to earn credits, you'll get them in abundance by completing quests, participating in Calyxes, and collecting Pom-Pom's Trailblaze level rewards. You can even earn credits without trying; assign yourself a support character in your profile so that your friends can use it during the battles for Calix and you will earn credits too!
Credits can be earned by defeating enemies in the world, opening treasure chests, and participating in events. If you're desperate, you can even trade Undying Embers for them at the Embers Exchange store, though I don't know why you do that!
