The best solo class in Diablo 4

There are five classes in total, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. With that said, some classes are significantly stronger as solo classes, especially in the small piece of content available in the beta.

Necromancer

Necromancer in Diablo 4
Probably the best class for solo players.

pros - Summons undead minions for help, good self-healing, good AoE.

Necromancer playable as both a ranged and melee class depending on preference, and thanks to the book of the dead mechanic, he has access to a vast array of strategies involving their undead minions. As a solo class, being able to stay at a distance and rely on your personal (and highly customizable) undead horde is fantastic.

Abilities like Bone Prison and Blood Mist will help keep you alive, while your collection of powerful explosive spells like Corpse Explosion and Bone Storm will help you take out large groups of enemies at once. An excellent choice for a single player.

Witch

Sorcerer in Diablo 4
Regular user of Diablo 4 magic.

pros — Huge damage from ranged spells, good crowd control, excellent AoE.

If you like throwing spells and doing a lot of damage yourself, then Witch great choice for you. Thanks to their enchantment system, you can choose certain spells you don't use to provide passive buffs. Thus, with a finely tuned build, you will be able to create a truly devastating magical character.

Using your mana, you can use powerful abilities like Fireball and Chain Lightning to lay waste to hordes of enemies. There are also some brilliant defensive spells, such as a reliable teleport that will keep you safe. If you don't mind mana management and a little health, this is a damn good solo class.

Barbarian

solo class Barbarian in Diablo 4
If you love close combat, this class is for you.

pros — Huge melee damage, endurance, excellent area and single target damage, powerful self-buffs.

Barbarian this is an incredibly strong melee class for those of you who like to hit things and hit them hard. Thanks to their unique arsenal system, you can equip a selection of weapons that will grant your character various bonuses, allowing you to play around with your build.

The most important thing for a barbarian is his rage, which is a special resource used for powerful abilities like Whirlwind and Flip for offense, as well as brilliant defensive skills like Rallying Cry and Undying Fury. This is a cool class for those who want to get into the thick of things, just remember to build a tank side if you're playing solo.

Druid

Druid in Diablo 4
What a cool take on a new class!

pros - Brilliant damage with shapeshifting, good AoE, great buffs.

Druid is an interesting addition to Diablo, able to switch between different and unique powerful forms to deal damage to nearby enemies. Their unique trait, Animal Spirits, grants additional passive buffs to increase their strength, but this won't be in the open beta, as you have to go outside of Act 1 to access it.

Druids will generate Spirit during the game, which they can use to unleash powerful attacks such as Pulverize and Tornado. In terms of defense, you have Cyclone Armor and Trample which allow you to benefit from a stun or additional protection where needed. It's a shame the spirit animal system won't be in play during the closed beta, but the Druid should still be a lot of fun for those who enjoy playing as a unique spellcaster or voracious melee fighter.

Rogue

solo class Rogue in Diablo 4
More agile than any other class.

pros - High ranged or melee damage, high mobility, good crowd control and a powerful boss killer.

If you like to move fast and hit hard, Scoundrel a good choice for you. Their unique class specialization mechanic allows you to quickly switch between three different playstyles, allowing you to change your character to suit the upcoming battles.

Rogues are a balance between building your Specialization resource and keeping track of your energy. If you can handle it, offensive skills like Rapid Fire and Flurry will mow down the demons you encounter, while defensive options like Smoke Screen will keep you alive. If you are confident that you can stay alive and keep an eye on several things at the same time, Rogue will be exceptional.

This concludes our guide to the best solo classes in Diablo 4.
