It's been over a month since Cyberpunk Edgerunners debuted on Netflix, and since then, reviews of Cyberpunk 2077 in Steam more and more came in as many new and returning players started playing. Now when you look at the aggregate of user reviews Steam about Cyberpunk 2077 over the past 30 days (and there are almost 15 of them), they will be “very positive”: 000% of players rated the sci-fi role-playing game “with a bang.”

“Oooh, look at this!” — tweeted Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Pavel Sashko. "90% of reviews on Steam over the last 30 days - very positive.” He added: "It feels so good you can't even imagine," while a sobbing emoji expressed his emotions.

Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced some tumultuous events ahead of its second birthday. After numerous delays, it finally released in December 2020 after a massive marketing campaign. While reviews from critics were mostly favorable, the tune changed dramatically when players first set foot in Night City - especially those playing on last-gen consoles. Reviewers were only given codes for PC, and the poor state of the Cyberpunk 2077 console ports was hidden.

Developers CD Projekt Red have been working on patches, bug fixes and small pieces of additional content, pushing back their original plans for extensive DLC. While the game has improved markedly during this time, the ill will generated by the poor launch has made the game a pariah - you won't get a second chance to make a first impression.

Unless, of course, you can make an anime with Studio Trigger. When Edgerunners debuted in September, players decided to return to the role-playing game that inspired them, and it they seemed to like what they found..

In the long term, the first - and so far only - expansion of Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, will be released in 2023. Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red announced that it is working on a brand new Cyberpunk game, codenamed Project Orion, as well as several new games in the Witcher universe.
