The release date for Company of Heroes 3 is just around the corner, but you can try out the multiplayer component of the upcoming RTS game earlier. Closed multiplayer testing will start on January 11, but you can already register for free on Steam.

Developer Relic is making the Company of Heroes 3 multiplayer tech test free for all players. To register, simply go to Company of Heroes 3 page Steam and click "Request access", located under the pre-purchase options.

After that, it remains only to wait for the start of the test and download the client. There aren't many details yet, though Relic has confirmed that you'll be able to play against the AI during the test, not just against other players.

Also, to be clear, you don't need to pre-order Company of Heroes 3 to take part in the test - it's free for anyone who wants to sign up and try the game.

The team says more information will be coming soon, including a FAQ. In the meantime, check out our material on how mods for Company of Heroes 3 will work, and how Relic took into account feedback from RTS veteran players in Company of Heroes 3.
